Family Camping

child sleeping The Festival has put aside a special section of the campgrounds designated for Family Camping. It is part of the light camping (tents only) portion of the campgrounds, generally on the edge of the campgrounds nearest the parking lot. Please ask camping volunteers to point you in the right direction.

The Family Camping area is designed to be a "quieter" area of the campgrounds, particularly late at night, and campers in this area are asked to avoid jam sessions after hours.

As with all areas of the Festival, alcohol and illegal substances are prohibited, as are loud percussion displays.

Children under 5 accompanied by an adult are admitted to the campgrounds at no charge. Children aged 5-11 can camp for a minimal fee. However, everyone in the campground must have a camping wristlet. Obtain wristlets for your children when you present your own tickets.

The campground is quite large and there are many tents. It is recommended that you place some sort of identifier at your campsite (for example, a flag) so children can find their site. Note also that the campground has no babysitting services. Children found wondering alone will be brought to Camping headquarters.
See Families & Children for more information about families and children attending the Folk Festival.
